500 days before impact – a study on the healthcare sector

What will the Swiss healthcare sector look like after introduction of the SwissDRG financing of in-patient care and how can hospitals and clinics prepare?

The Swiss healthcare market is about to change for in-patient cases. Drastically.

The results of the discussions with 30 experts, directors of hospitals and clinics in the french speaking part of Switzerland, employed physicians and those with private practices, nursing specialists and researchers are summed up in our french study “SwissDRG – diagnostic à 500 jours du choc”.

This study gives an insight to current preparations, to expectations and concerns. Its main goal, however, is sharing the best practices among healthcare players, allowing all of us to learn from each other in pursuing the common goal: provide the best treatment to each individual patient at the most reasonable prize.   Our consultants have invested hundreds of hours in this work and we hope to contribute to a discussion that needs to be as lively and intense as possible. Our German neighbors have had some positive but also many negative experiences in introducing an almost identical financing. Let us learn from their experience and make our healthcare system a better one.
